About

Meet Ben

Hello, I am Ben (He/Him) and I am a psychotherapist located in Southern California. In my practice, I primarily work with adolescents and young adults providing support around what can be a challenging time developmentally. Some common challenges clients experience include: addressing challenges in relationships including with friends, partners, and family, navigating educational and career challenges, working through issues of identity, substance use issues, depressive symptoms, being neurodivergent, and coping with the challenging times we live in.

I utilize a trauma-informed, collaborative, and strengths based approach. I believe that clients are the experts on themselves and their lives. My role is to support around challenges, facilitate processing of issues, develop strengths and coping skills, and gently guide the direction of our work. It is important to me that each client and their goals are centered. Working in this way is empowering to the client and helps to bring equity into the therapeutic relationship, which can often feel (and be) unbalanced.

My goal is to provide affirming therapy and I engage in ongoing self-reflection, personal therapy, and supervision to best support all of my clients. I am also a registered nurse with experience working with various populations taking psychotropic medications. I have served as an adjunct faculty member at San Francisco State University and consulted with The Pawsitive Change Program, on a therapy informed canine training curriculum, for California prison inmates. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, going to concerts, and running (slowly).
